HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is a heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone composed of an alpha subunit shared with LH, FSH and TSH, and a distinct beta subunit that determines receptor binding. In laboratory settings it is studied as an LH analogue in endocrinology and gonadal signaling models.
