GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper complex) is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide first isolated from human plasma in 1973. Its affinity for copper(II) ions gives the lyophilized material and reconstituted solution its characteristic blue color, and it is widely studied in dermal tissue remodeling, wound-healing and extracellular matrix models.
Laboratory Research Focus
In in-vitro dermal models, GHK-Cu is used as a copper-delivery tool compound, investigated for its effects on collagen and elastin synthesis, matrix metalloproteinase activity and inflammatory-cytokine modulation. Researchers verify each batch by reverse-phase HPLC and ESI-MS against a reference standard before experimental use.
- Matrix synthesis Examined for effects on collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycan expression in cell-culture models.
- Tissue remodeling Studied in models of damaged-tissue resolution and new matrix deposition.
- Copper delivery Used as a controlled source of copper(II) for oxidative-enzyme pathway assays.
GHK-CU Research Compound
Why BondPep
- Third-party analytical release Every batch runs reverse-phase HPLC with UV detection and ESI-MS identity check by an independent laboratory before it enters inventory.
- Lot records retained online Each vial links to its own batch number; the corresponding HPLC and ESI-MS record is available in the lot lookup page.
- Cold-chain handled Material is climate-controlled from receipt to dispatch, with insulated packaging for temperature-sensitive orders.
- Same-day dispatch In-stock orders leave the facility within 24 hours on business days, tracked to your destination.
Reconstitution & Storage
Because GHK-Cu is a copper–peptide complex, reconstitution requires care. Use sterile bacteriostatic water as the diluent. Direct the needle against the inner glass wall of the vial and let the liquid slide down gently; never shake or agitate vigorously, as foaming indicates molecular damage. Roll the vial between your fingers until the powder fully dissolves and the solution reaches a clear, vivid blue.
Store unopened lyophilized powder at −20°C, protected from light. Once reconstituted, keep refrigerated at 2–8°C and use promptly. Handle with appropriate PPE in a certified laboratory setting.
